NATURAL METHODS FOR THE CORONAVIRUS
Let's talk about natural methods you might use to help strengthen your immune system. With a stronger immune system, you have less chance of contracting the Coronavirus, and if you do, you will have a better chance of fighting it off. I've researched methods that worked during the Spanish Flu in 1918, and ones that work good against the regular flu now.
1) BAKING SODA (Bicarbonate of Soda)--I watched several videos, made a few years ago, of survivors of the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic. One of them talked about how her Mother had all the Family members take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water every morning before breakfast. She attributed that to her survival, as none of her Family contracted the flu, even though they cared for 8 sick people at a time in their home during the pandemic.
In their booklet “Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Medical Uses,” published in 1924, Dr. Volney S. Cheney recounts his clinical successes with sodium bicarbonate in treating cold and flu:2
“In 1918 and 1919 while fighting the ‘flu’ with the U. S. Public Health Service it was brought to my attention that rarely anyone who had been thoroughly alkalinized with bicarbonate of soda contracted the disease, and those who did contract it, if alkalinized early, would invariably have mild attacks.
I have since that time treated all cases of ‘cold,’ influenza and LaGripe by first giving generous doses of bicarbonate of soda, and in many, many instances within 36 hours the symptoms would have entirely abated.
Further, within my own household, before Woman’s Clubs and Parent-Teachers’ Associations, I have advocated the use of bicarbonate of soda as a preventive for ‘colds,’ with the result that now many reports are coming in stating that those who took ‘soda’ were not affected, while nearly everyone around them had the ‘flu.’
Recommended dosages from the Arm & Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925 were:
Day 1 — Take six doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water, at about two-hour intervals
Day 2 — Take four doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals
Day 3 — Take two doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter ½ teaspoon in glass of cool water each morning until cold symptoms are gone
Keep in mind that Baking Soda has sodium in it. Most Americans eat a diet high in meat and sugar, and that makes your blood more acidic--which is not good. Baking soda increases your ph level, by making your blood more alkaline. A higher level of alkalinity in your body (to a certain extent) will give you a stronger immune system.

2) ELDERBERRY SYRUP--Many people consider the elderberry plant one of the most powerful for preventing and treating colds and influenza and swear by its antiviral properties. The results of some studies show that elderberries do indeed have significant benefits against cold and influenza symptoms.
In one placebo-controlled, double-blind study conducted by Israeli virologist Dr. Madeleine Mumcuoglu, 93.3% of the people taking an elderberry preparation reported significant improvement in influenza symptoms within 2 days of starting it, compared with the 6 days it took for the placebo group to see improvement.1
In another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study performed in Norway, researchers gave either a placebo syrup or elderberry syrup to patients who reported having flu-like symptoms for less than 48 hours. The results were similar to Dr. Mumcuoglu’s results. On average, the patients who received the elderberry syrup saw relief of symptoms 4 days earlier than the group that received the placebo syrup. As an added benefit, the patients in the elderberry syrup group reported taking significantly fewer over-the-counter medications in hopes of symptom relief.2
Researchers also have found that people who have taken elderberries have higher levels of antibodies against the influenza virus, showing that not only may the berry be able to treat flu symptoms, it may also be able to prevent influenza infection.
3) COLLOIDAL SILVER--There is no medical cure for coronavirus and all viral infections, which is why people are turning to nature for solutions. One of the known natural antivirus agents is colloidal silver, a traditional remedy whose antiseptic properties were used in ancient Egypt, the Middle East and India by royal households to keep water and other fluids fresh and to treat various infections. Until its ban in the 1930s, it was recognized and used as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial by clinicians to treat bacterial, parasitical, fungal and viral infections.
In the absence of medical solutions for coronavirus, people are turning to natural solutions such as colloidal silver. Because colloidal silver is a broad-spectrum antiviral, that also strengthens the immune system, it may potentially prevent or help to treat coronavirus infection. The jury is still out on that.
Colloidal silver has been found to kill and eradicate the smallpox virus, the influenza virus and HIV-1, and to prevent HIV from attaching to host cells. It is known to prevent infections and viruses such as hepatitis B. It is also used to treat and prevent flu and the common cold. A study on children up to 12 years old, with nasal congestion and the common cold, treated half of them with a solution of silver and beta glucan and the other half with saline solution. Both groups benefited, but 90% of the silver group completely recovered.
4) VITAMIN C--Has been shown to strengthen our immune systems, along with Vitamin D and Zinc. I've bought some of the Emergen C Immune + product that has 1000 mg of Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc in it. Comes in a powder form, and doesn't taste bad.
5) GARLIC--Garlic is a powerful antioxidant with antimicrobial, antiviral and antibiotic properties. For colds and flus, it also provides decongestant and expectorant effects. While none of garlic’s components have been isolated by science as the sole explanation for garlic’s flu-busting effects, vitamin C, a slew of enzymes, and minerals such as sulphur and selenium, definitely play a role.
Crushing fresh garlic, whether through chopping and letting minced garlic rest, or by chomping down on a clove with your own teeth – causes a chemical reaction that releases allicin. Allicin is a powerful antibacterial only present shortly after garlic is crushed and before it is heated! Eating fresh garlic in this state is purported to knock out that terrible feeling associated with the onset of a cold or flu. Some experts even recommend eating a clove or two every 3 to 4 hours until the bug is entirely knocked out!
